MEYER WERFT cooperate with victim protection organisation WEISSER RING

Papenburg, 19.01.2026 –

MEYER WERFT has signed a cooperation agreement with the victim protection WEISSER RING e. V., Leer branch and Emsland/Grafschaft Bentheim branch. The agreement provides for low-threshold access to advice and support for affected MEYER WERFT employees through WEISSER RING e. V. at the company.

‘MEYER WERFT has a social responsibility towards its employees. The cooperation with WEISSER RING is an important signal for additional counselling and support services for our employees,’ said Bernd Eikens, CEO of MEYER WERFT, at the signing. Employees who are affected by crime, violence, harassment or threats need special support. Fast and competent help for those affected within the company is of great importance so that physical and psychological consequences can be overcome more quickly and rights can be exercised.

‘Our organisation offers assistance with victim protection in the workplace, psychosocial support for employees, and the prevention and management of crimes and their consequences,’ says Paul Bloem, a former member of the management board at MEYER WERFT who volunteers for WEISSER RING. For almost 50 years, WEISSER RING has been the point of contact for people affected by crime. Drawing a clear line between labour law issues and criminal matters remains unaffected.

The cooperation agreement is a pilot project. According to WEISSER RING, comparable agreements have so far been concluded mainly with institutions in the public or social sector; cooperation with the private sector remains the exception.

Among other things, there are plans to develop joint information and prevention measures for victim protection and support services in the workplace.
