“Not with us!” MEYER WERFT supports the day of action against violence against women and calls on all employees to take a stand against discrimination, sexual harassment, and violence against women.
Today, November 25, is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, which was initiated by the UN in 1960. “We take this issue very seriously. We do not tolerate any form of sexual harassment, discrimination, or violence against women. Every employee is responsible for ensuring that all employees at the shipyard feel safe and respected,” said Bernd Eikens, Managing Director of MEYER WERFT.
As part of the day of action, MEYER WERFT is supporting the campaign by the Musswessels bakery, which is distributing 7,000 bread bags printed with the slogan “Gewalt kommt nicht in die Tüte” (Violence doesn't come in the bag) at all Musswessels locations. These bags are also being distributed in the shipyard canteens today.
“MEYER WERFT, with its thousands of employees, is a reflection of society. We have already conducted self-assertion courses for women and training for employees on how to treat each other with respect. We want to create an atmosphere in the workplace where all employees are respected and their performance is valued,” says Jörg Heidelberg, COO and, from January 2026, also Managing Director of the company.
“We have received a great deal of positive feedback and support for this initiative from the company management and many employees. We will not tolerate inappropriate behavior in the company,” says project manager Nicole Piechotta.
