Evening of Apprenticeship a complete success

Papenburg, 01.03.2024 –

Last Wednesday evening, MEYER WERFT once again hosted the Evening of Apprenticeship. The evening, which is organised by the shipyard instead of Girl's Day/Future Day, was very well received: About 200 pupils from the eighth grade onwards were given a comprehensive insight into the world of work at the shipyard.

Managing Director Bernard Meyer and Erwin Siemens, head of training, welcomed the school groups. "Building modern cruise ships is a team effort for which we will continue to need well-trained specialists in the future. That's why we are delighted to welcome so many school pupils who are interested in an apprenticeship or dual study programme with us," said Siemens. All of the MEYER Group's training opportunities were then presented.

For the first time, a shuttle service to the shipyard's logistics centre was offered for the training evening. The tour of the fully automated and omputer-controlled centre was a highlight of the evening for many of the students. The customised building with its effective software control system bundles the MEYER Group's logistics and is operated by EMS Maritime Services.

The MEYER Group still has vacancies for apprenticeships starting in August 2024. Information on the apprenticeships can be found at www.meyercareer.com Applications can also be submitted there.
