They focus on the shipbuilding industry, while other main focuses are on energy and the environment. A lot is happening here, especially with regard to sustainable materials and alternative drive systems, because MEYER WERFT is making every effort to build eco-friendly cruise ships.

The employees in this department also forge partnerships with universities, research centres and manufacturers, and they stay in tune with the national and international maritime research community. Additionally, they help develop rules and regulations for new technologies.
