MEYER WERFT is implementing another important step in its future program. MEYER WERFT Laserzentrum GmbH, which has been an independent company since 2009, is expected to be reintegrated into MEYER WERFT under company law at the turn of the year. Thus, MEYER WERFT will focus even more on the industrialization of shipbuilding with standardized production processes.
Since its foundation as an independent company within the MEYER Group, the MEYER WERFT Laser Center has rapidly and strongly developed into today's lean and automated high-tech factory with a qualified team. "A highly efficient industrial production has been created" says Hermann Lembeck, Managing Director of MEYER WERFT Laserzentrum.
With the full integration now imminent, these advantages will now be transferred step by step to MEYER WERFT as well. The shipyard can benefit from the very leanly implemented production with optimized processes in the "factory" laser center and the efficient control of material.
At the same time, the laser center benefits from established processes at the shipyard through this step, e.g. from quality assurance and the continuous processes that the shipyard consistently pursues. "The decision thus brings benefits for both sides," Lembeck is certain.
The regulations required for implementation will be discussed and negotiated with the works council over the next few months.
