MEYER WERFT is strengthening its team with a total of 64 new apprentices, dual-study students and FOS annual interns. On September 1, they began their training in 14 different professions at MEYER WERFT and the MEYER Group companies EMS PreCab and EMS Maritime Services. On Monday evening, they were officially welcomed by their trainers, the Works Council and André Walter, CEO of MEYER WERFT.
“We need highly qualified professionals, because building modern cruise ships is a team effort. Education and professional development have always been of great importance within the MEYER WERFT Group,” says Erwin Siemens, Head of Vocational Training at MEYER WERFT.
MEYER WERFT has traditionally been one of the largest training providers in the region. Currently, around 200 apprentices and dual-study students are employed at the shipyard.
“Today is an exciting day for me as well. For the first time, I have the opportunity to welcome our new apprentices here at MEYER WERFT. We will urgently need skilled professionals in the years ahead, as our order book is very strong. MEYER WERFT offers long-term career prospects and excellent opportunities for professional development,” says Managing Director André Walter.
