Star Cruises, the leading cruise company in Asia, has placed another contract with Meyer Werft for a new cruise ship. This vessel will increase Star Cruises’ fleet to eight ships. The 151,300GT newbuilding with building number S. 712 is scheduled for delivery in fall 2017.
Star Cruises to build a new ship specially for Asia
Star Cruises, the leading cruise line in Asia-Pacific, has commissioned the construction of a brand new 150,000-tonne vessel to meet the growing demands from the Asian market. Once completed, the 1,694-cabin ship will be the largest ship permanently homeported in Asia. It will also be the largest under the Star Cruises brand.

The SuperStar Leo was delivered in autumn 1998. The ship has a tonnage of 76.800 gt and can operate at a speed of more than 24 knots. She is particularly adjusted for the Asian market.
