The Norwegian Crown was delivered to the shipping company Royal Cruise Line, Piräus in 1988 as Crown Odyssey. Later the cruise ship was renamed to Norwegian Crown.
Due to the fact that that the Crown Odyssey was completed within the roofed building dock, which has a length of 258 m, she was the first cruise ship at MEYER WERFT to be equipped regardless of weather conditions. At the same time, the construction of the next passenger ship could be initiated.
Today, the ship belongs to the shipping company Fred. Olsen Cruise Line and is called Balmoral.
