AIDAmar
The AIDAmar is the sixth ship built by MEYER WERFT for AIDA Cruises. It was integrated in the AIDA-fleet as the ninth ship in 2012.
The ship is designed for the German market and combines comfortable equipment with the most modern technical demands. With a flow-optimized design of the hull, a low friction underwater coat, an intelligent technology for water-saving and many other environmental-friendly measures, the AIDAmar is among the most environmental-friendly ships on all oceans.
As early as November 2010, AIDA Cruises announced the new ship’s name and at the same time declared the world-wide biggest christening on Mail 12th 2012 in the course of the 823. Hamburg Port Anniversary. The three sister ships, AIDAluna, AIDAblu and AIDAsol, accompanied their sister as godmothers in a large ship parade.
