The “Nautilus” company daycare centre

We help our employees balance their career and family life. We’ve been running our own daycare centre – the “Nautilus” – since 2013, offering flexible opening hours and accommodating up to 80 children from the age of three months. The children are supervised in crèche groups (up to the age of three) and nursery groups (age 3 to school age).

MEYER WERFT was awarded a seal of approval for family friendliness in 2011.

Stronger together

Thanks to our employees and their expertise, we’ve become one of the best and most modern shipyards in the world – and one of the most important employers in the region. We really appreciate our employees’ commitment, which is why we invest in their well-being. We promote measures that contribute to their health and happiness, and we offer social counselling and various training opportunities to make sure big things are constantly accomplished at MEYER WERFT – now and in the future.

Staying fit and healthy

As MEYER WERFT would like to continually improve its employees’ work-life balance, occupational health management is enshrined in our corporate culture. This includes our cooperation with Hansefit, an association of regional gyms and physiotherapy practices, where our workers enjoy low-cost exercise and wellness programmes. We also offer various courses (coping with stress, relaxing muscles, quitting smoking, etc.) and addiction, bullying and debt counselling. Our employees can also make use of our in-house company doctor, paramedics and four health consultants, as well as our donation fund that provides financial support in times of need.

Permanently connected

MEYER WERFT has founded a club for senior citizens to give all retired members of staff the chance to stay connected with us and our company and to stay in touch with their former colleagues. The club organises various events throughout the year, such as games afternoons, hikes, cycling tours, a summer festival and a Christmas party. The association was founded in 2007 and now has hundreds of members.
